Booktalks –most effective Low-Tech or High Tech each has a place Podcasts (Audacity) – audio only MovieMaker projects

4 Online Book Trailers Book Trailers are like commercials
Essentially a higher tech booktalk Example: Wake Different types Slide type with written descriptions Film type- more like a movie trailer with words/action Software (so many different types) MovieMaker iMovie (Mac users)

5 Download Book Trailers
Numerous methods Incredibly simple Using Firefox, there is a direct plug-in that makes it nearly seamless You will need to also download a flvplayer

6 Zamzar in 5 steps Step 1: Get URL Step 2: Choose format (I use wmv)
Step 3: Enter Step 4: Click Convert Step 5: Go to your Note: it may take an hour for it to appear in your

7 Make a Booktrailer/Digital Booktalk
Keep it simple Choose a book you’ve read It should have an impactful cover or premise Choose images that will enhance your presentation use a copyright free side Text is hard to read over images- choose carefully

Step 1- Outline Book trailer Plan out wording, image needs, and tone Step 2- Choose images (copyright free)

Step 3- Create slides with images and text Be careful to choose text colors that will show up against the images or use colored text boxes to avoid visual issues Step 4- Choose copyright free music

11 Transfer to MovieMaker
Click Import Media Select the slides and music files Drag and drop into place Drag music first Drag images onto top row Save as mp3
