2 Household Electrification
All the inhabited census villages have been electrified. Next target is Household Electrification. 83% of the HHs are already electrified. Aspirational Districts have household electrification from 40% to 100%. Saubhagya – Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Bijli Har Ghar Yojana Last mile connectivity and electricity connections to remaining un-electrified households

‘Har Ghar’ – Universal coverage ‘Sahaj’ – Simple / Easy / effortless Camps in villages / cluster of villages Use of Mobile App/on spot release of connection No upfront fee for availing electricity connection Absolutely free for economically poor households For other households, Rs.500 in 10 instalments Identification of beneficiaries on SECC 2011 data Off-grid solutions in remote & inaccessible areas

Experience of GSA-I During Households Electrification under GSA-I, it was found that on an average the actual number of unelectrified HH in field were about 55% of the estimation. Applying the same % for GSA-II, the target unelectrified HHs under GSA will be: 31,25,698 Per day target: 41,128 connections

8 Infrastructure for electrification
• Deen Dayal Upadhya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) Access to electricity – Electrification of un-electrified villages and intensive electrification in already electrified villages Quality & Reliability – System strengthening including metering Work already sanctioned under DDUGJY for these Aspirational Districts and under execution.

11 UJALA Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) is the nodal agency for Ujala yojana. During the GSA-I, more than 25 lakh LED bulbs were distributed. Using mobile awareness vans GSA-I at special price of Rs 50 per bulb. Received appreciations for distributing the bulbs in hardest and remotest part of the country. Ujala is a voluntary scheme and it is a consumer/villager’s choice. Depends upon the need and financial capacity of the villager. GSA-II: Proposed price Rs65 per bulb.

12 Gram Swaraj Abhiyan (GSA): initiatives of MoP
Workshop with IEEMA, at Kolkata on May 4, for material availability Fund availability is being ensured with the help of Ministry of Finance Relaxation given to state for local purchase, petty contractors, repeat order, procurement at discovered price etc REC deputed officials in states for coordination and support REC is handholding states in planning. States requested to engage more contractors Engagement of retired officials temporarily, if required. HMoP, Officers and REC in regular touch with States to support them
