7 Four Strategic Themes:
What are some examples from your campuses? Innovation & Entrepreneurship Individualized Education Sustainability Partnerships Innovation and Entrepreneurship: SUNY will lead in the expansion of cross-disciplinary research, innovation and entrepreneurship, in order to foster healthier, more resilient communities, spur economic development, promote environmental conservation, and create new career paths that will keep New York State workers technologically competitive. This goal will be achieved in part by expanding student opportunities and internships in emerging fields like artificial intelligence, robotics, data analytics, and their applications to education and healthcare, and by making targeted investments in research and faculty development. Individualized Education: SUNY will use data analytics and cloud computing to customize a degree pathway for students, and offer lifelong, “just in time” learning opportunities to secure a skillset that adapts to inevitable job market shifts and dislocations. Sustainability: Reduce SUNY’s carbon footprint by 40% and source 100% of its electricity from zero-net carbon sources Partnerships: Build and strengthen partnerships, including philanthropic partnerships, to grow innovation and foster economic development.
