As I am going around checking you dream logs, answer these questions on the slip of paper I give you. BELLRINGER: What are some psychoactive drugs that you can think of? Can you think of certain movies/books where characters use them? How do you think these drugs affect our minds and bodies?

3 What is meditation? Meditation-The focusing of attention to clear one’s mind and produce relaxation. - A pretty good dfn that fits most varieties of meditation. You can direct your attention to whatever fits you best. Ex: breath, heartbeat, mantra (ohm)

4 What meditation is… Increase awareness of the world around you.
Being in the moment – not worrying about the past or future

5 Types of meditation Two groups:
Concentrative - Meditation of mind, body, senses. Mindful -designed to develop the skill of paying attention to ourselves with acceptance, patience, and compassion.
