2 Alliteration Repetition of consonant sounds at the beginnings of words
For example: The wind in the willows waned

3 Assonance Repetition of vowel sounds For example:
Who do you think of when you do that?

4 Consonance Repetition of consonant sounds NOT at the beginnings of words For example: I scattered the tattered and battered remnants.

5 Onomatopoeia Words that sound like the sound they represent
For example: The clop, clop, clop of the horse’s hooves

6 End Rhyme Rhyming words at the ends of lines For example:
We ran to keep up with the bus How could they drive off without us

7 Internal Rhyme Rhyming words within a line of poetry For example:
The writer was sending the ending of the poem

8 Personification Giving human qualities to inanimate objects
For example: The warm breeze whispered promises of summer.

9 Find the examples of alliteration, assonance, and consonance.
A tutor who tooted the flute tried to tutor two tooters to toot. Said the two to the tutor, “Is it harder to toot? Or to tutor two tooters to toot?”
