You’ll be seeing this slide a lot from us this week
Reminds us that Internet2 not just about networks; but about putting the whole environment together that supports science, research, teaching, learning
Wanted to highlight just a few ways in which --- as Doug said last night –- Internt2’s international partnership enrich the Internet2 communities work --- not just by providing international connectivity for INternet2 members but in areas such as middleware, end to end performance and applications as well
Enabling new work mainly for subsets of our membership:
Haystack observatory
New world symphony masters classes
Telemedicine instructions
Reiterate commitment to shared applications, building the scaffolding, need to acknowledge the difficulty we’ve had in getting folks to converge around shared and common applications
We expect Applications Strategy Council will provide more advice in this regard.

International partners are of strategic importance to Internet2
Establish leading, high-performance network infrastructures in support of science, teaching and learning
Ensure global coordination and end-to-end performance in support of our communities
Build effective partnerships in other countries with organizations of similar goals/objectives and similar constituencies
Mechanism: Memoranda of Understanding
Provide/promote interconnectivity between communities
Collaborate on technology development and deployment
Facilitate collaboration between members on applications
