15 Literacy Through Drama
Began in 2010 and delivered during the fall and winter ( 4 completed) A workshop format with community partners at their sites – 1 1/2 to 2 hour workshops over 3 to 6 weeks 6-12 participants per program, 8-11 and years Develops literacy /an enhanced love of language and reading through word play, dramatic readings and writing Reinforces Social skills of listening and communicating

16 Previous participants who were “aging out” can continue to participate
Leadership Program Added summer 2010 Youth years of age 5 in inaugural year Previous participants who were “aging out” can continue to participate Proposed by one of the theatre counsellors, developed by the Child and Youth Workers

17 Leadership Program Open to community youth of this age who have not been previous participants Develops skills in conflict resolution, teamwork, communication and leadership

18 Leadership Program “ a brilliant step , a positive first foray for older youth into work experience, good training and leadership opportunities”
