2 Archaeologist Definition- an expert who studies the past by examining objects left by early people

3 Geographer Definition: an expert who studies the earth, it’s land, features and inhabitants

4 Prehistoric Definition: before written history

5 Artifact Definition: an object made or used by people in the past

6 Ritual Definition: relating to a ceremony, such as a religious ceremony

7 Anthropologist Definition- a scientist who studies human development and culture

8 Hominid Definition- a prehistoric human

9 Capability Definition- power or skill

10 Migrate Definition- to move from one geographic region to another

11 Domesticate To train a wild animal to be useful to humans

12 agriculture The business of farming

13 Nomad A person who moves from place to place with no permanent home.

14 Trade The business of buying and selling or exchanging items

15 resource Something that can be used to fulfill a need

16 Paleolithic Age Definition: the first period of the Stone Age, called the Old Stone Age, from about 2 million years ago to about 10,000 years ago

17 Neolithic Age Definition: the later part of the Stone Age, called the New Stone Age, from about 5,000 to 10,000 years ago.

18 Artisan Definition: a craftsperson, who makes things with their hands.

19 Civilization Definition: a culture with arts, sciences, government and social classes

20 Irrigation Definition: a way to supply land with water from another location

21 Social Class Definition: a group of society different from other groups because of wealth, property and rights.

22 Surplus Definition: what is left over after needs are met
