Manage Canada’s diplomatic and consular relations, to encourage the country’s international trade and to lead Canada’s international development and humanitarian assistance. Foreign Policy Economic sanctions, international organizations, coordinate responses to natural disasters and unanticipated world events, democracy and human rights Trade Trade agreements and promotion, resolve trade barriers and market access issues, Trade Commissioner Service (TCS), Sectors Bureau Development Support Canadian direct investment in developing countries, response to humanitarian crisis

3 TCS Footprint More than 1,000 Trade Commissioners, including 54 Full-Time Equivalent in life sciences Regional Network Five Hub Regional Offices (Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, Montreal, Halifax) + satellites offices Connect clients with our offices abroad to meet specific market interests and capacity for expansion

5 Key Programs Going Global Innovation (GGI) CanExport
Offers funding to Canadian innovators to find international partners (research or investment) that can help them commercialize their products. GGI covers up to 75 percent of eligible costs (e.g., travel costs), up to a maximum of $75,000 for an approved project. CanExport Provides matching contributions of between $10,000 and $99,999 to eligible SMEs undertaking a project aiming at the development of a new export market. SMEs need to have sales between $200,000 and $50 million. Canadian Technology Accelerators (CTA) CTAs target high-potential, export-ready technology companies that are committed to growth from Canada by offering intensive support.
