3 Words to know… Holocaust- is a word of Greek origin meaning “sacrifice by fire” Genocide-the deliberate and systematic destruction, in whole or in part, of an ethnic, racial, religious, or national group Final Solution - euphemism to describe Nazi plan to annihilate the Jewish people Anti-Semitism- hostility toward or prejudice against Jews as a religious, ethnic, or racial group
