8 Concussion Law 2011 Wisconsin Act 172
Informational notices provided on Oregon Youth Baseball website under resources. Coaches must remove any player they suspect has had a concussion. The player cannot resume participation until a medical provider has cleared him.

9 Competitive Matrix Documents the Board of Directors’ philosophy and expectations. League Directors and/or Board Members are responsible for ensuring coaches adhere to the requirements therein. Visit for a copy.

10 Skills Workouts Machine Pitch, Minor League, and Little League
Skills evaluations to provide League Directors information to develop competitively balanced teams. Evaluated on throwing, fielding, and hitting in a practice like setting. Held at Oregon High School Fieldhouse and indoor batting cages Board policy on parents/guardians’ participation Due to limited space we ask that parents wait outside the fieldhouse or come back at the end of the workout.

11 Skills Workouts Saturday, April 7 Registration
Machine Pitch: 1:00- 2:30 Minor League (3rd & 4th grade): 2:45– 4:00 Little League (5th & 6th grade): 4:15 – 5:30 Registration Players should arrive minutes before their session begins.

12 Equipment Exchange Saturday, April 7- Oregon High School during skills workouts. 12:00-1:00- bring in items for the exchange Acceptable items: cleats, bats, gloves, helmets, and catcher’s equipment. 1:00-5:00 or until all items are gone. Items are available on a first come first serve basis.

13 New Bat Guidelines Minor League and Little League - For this year can still use 2 1/4” barrel or /8” barrel with USA baseball stamp - Next year must have USA baseball stamp Machine Pitch and lower will continue to use 2 ¼” barrel and does not need USA baseball stamp

14 T-Ball League Current 4K (5U) and Kindergarten Grade (6U)
Practices and Games will be Saturday morning/early afternoons Practices May 12, May 19, and May 26 Games Start June 2 and end July 14 Played at the Oregon Middle School diamonds Rules Overview Use a softer style ball than a regular hard ball Half an inning is after everyone bats on one team

15 Coach Pitch League Current Kindergarten (6U) and 1st Grade (7U)
Practices: 1-2 Practices per week Games Start in late May or early June; end in late July 1-2 Games per week 10 games Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday Played at the Oregon Middle School diamonds Rules Overview Use a softer ball than a regular hard ball Tee after 5 coach pitches Half an inning is after everyone bats on one team

16 Machine Pitch League Advanced 1st Graders (7U) and 2nd Graders (8U)
Practices: 1-2 Practices per week Games Start in late May or early June; end in late July 1-2 Games per week 10 games Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday Played at Kiser Field Rules Overview Use a (RIF) Restricted In Flight ball Strikeouts are allowed after 5 pitches Half an inning is 3 outs

17 Minor League Current 3rd (9U) and 4th (10U) graders
Practices: 2/week preseason, then 1/week Games Start in late May or early June: 2/week Tuesday & Thursday Practices and games will be played at Greenfield and/or McGaw Park - Fitchburg Night Games: July 20-21

18 Little League Current 5th (11U) and 6th Grade (12U)
Practices: 2/week preseason, then 1/week Games 2 per week Monday and Wednesday Played on Kiser and Statz Fields against other Oregon Teams World Series: July 20-21

19 Pony League Current 7th Grade (13U) Practices 1-2 per week
Typically 2 games per week, Monday-Friday Games are against teams from surrounding communities. Travel to half the games. Bat barrel size max is 2 5/8” Must have USA baseball stamp Home games are played at Greenfield Park in Fitchburg or Faust Field in Oregon.

20 Teener League Current 8th Grade (14U) Practices 1-2 per week
Typically 2 games per week, Monday-Friday Games are against teams from surrounding communities – Travel to half the games Bats -3 to -5 (weight minus length) USA baseball stamp or BBCOR .50 Bat barrel size max is 2 5/8” Home games are played at Freshman (Faust)

21 OYBL Hosted Tournaments
9U, 10U, 14U: June 15-17 11U, 12U, 13U: July 13-15 Tournament administration Please consider volunteering to maintain fields and keep score. This is our major fundraiser and helps keep registration fees down.

23 Batting Helmets OYBL is no longer furnishing helmets for Machine Pitch on up. Reason: Concussion safety. By purchasing your own you can make sure the helmet properly fits your child. We have included a helmet on the spirit pack order. You can also purchase at Dick’s Sporting Goods during Oregon Youth Baseball appreciation day and get 20% off.

April 7 – In-House/Developmental league skills workouts and equipment exchange April 15 – Coaches Meeting Early May (or when fields allow) – Practices begin, except for T-Ball May 4- Youth Night at the Varsity Baseball Game vs. Monroe (5:00) May 12 – T-Ball practices begin Late May or Early June – In-House league games begin June – 9U, 10U, 14U Tournament July – 11U, 12U, 13U Tournament July – Minor League night games and LLWS September 9- Travel Team tryouts at Faust Field
