3 Shouldn't Technology really be this easy to use?

4 If it is easy to use then Faculty and students will use it.
The following is some of the Technologies in use today. They have helped faculty to engage students and have an impact on their success.

5 Remote Interpreting in classroom for deaf students
iPads for presentations and classroom management Video editing for instructional enrichment Flip cameras for enhanced online experience iTouch to help Students succeed.

6 Video Remote Interpreting

7 Sandra Patton Director, LSCS Disability Services
We are in the implementation stage of providing remote interpreting in the classroom. Our goal is to work with LSCS’ 80+ students and staff who are deaf, via this technology. It is a low incidence, high cost population. The Office of Technology Services was able to leverage their replacement of their existing VTC backend to add this service for the students and staff.

8 Video Teleconferencing Equipment requirements
Upgrade from SD to HD for our VTC rooms. Add Desktop video conferencing. Integration with Outlook /Exchange. Interoperability with existing Cisco VoIP system. Cisco Unified Videoconferencing System Model 3545.

9 Video teleconferencing
Backward compatible with our Partner Universities SD classrooms. Solution allowed Sandra and her group the ability to schedule and connect with deaf students in the classroom. Allowing them to do this at a lower cost than their out-sourced solution.
