2. Goal: To complete a peer edit
RIGHT NOW:
Draft should be out on desk
Sign-up for SMGML only after you have completed Peer Review
SGML Topic: How do I proofread my own essay?

3. PEER CHECKLIST Read the paper thoroughly.
Read it as if you are reading it out loud, but silently to catch mistakes.

4. PEER CHECKLIST
You will NOT get credit for simply checking off the boxes.
Really read the essay and only check-off the box if the person has done that particular skill correctly.
Write NC, which means Needs Correcting. This way your peer knows what to do.
Even if it is painful, correct the mistakes.
Make sure you are doing it in a constructive manner

5. AFTER THE EDIT Staple your peer edit sheet to the back of their essay.
I will be collecting drafts of the essay to review as part of the final grade on Tuesday, December 1st.

6. When you are done…
Start correcting and making a plan on how to fix your essay.
DO not just sit around and gab.
Wasting time = losing points
