2 Nevada’s Approach to Anonymous Tip Systems
WHY bring on safevoice? It’s undeniable, many of our students are facing emotional and mental health challenges, and our schools are faced with threats to student and school safety – safevoice is a PREVENTION, INTERVENTION, and SUPPORT Tool Theory of Change Safe Schools + Student Care + Student Empowerment = Positive School Climate  Student Success Bottom Line SafeVoice is another door in the No Wrong Door approach to school safety and student wellness When they go through the door, a system of supports is waiting for them

3 ALSO, it’s the law Origins and Intent

The research grant is examining the effects of promoting this prevention tool to students and of having a multi-disciplinary team receiving and responding to school and student safety concerns. HOWEVER, Cohort 2 schools must have at least one administrator registered in the P3 system before Holiday Break in the event students submit tips related to their school. Clark PZs 1,5,7,8,9,10,15 Washoe Areas 3 and 5 Elko Lander Mineral Nye Lyon Churchill Storey Douglas Clark PZs 2,3,4,6,11,12,13,14 Washoe Areas 2 and 4 Carson Eureka White Pine Pershing Lincoln Esmeralda Humboldt Cohort 1 Goes live to students in January 2018 ALL schools statewide will have at least one SV team member ready Cohort 2 Goes live to students in August 2018 Charter schools along the way

11 FERPA – communication in P3 falls within “health and safety” exception Integration with Existing Systems A district may choose to redirect a bullying or school Secret Witness website to SafeVoice. District and community systems must remain at least until Cohort 2 goes live, can continue on as complementary systems, can direct intake to DPS SafeVoice Comm Center Result – Robust addition to No Wrong Door approach to student support ; full compliance with SB212
