Galatians 4:4-5 4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.

Around 400 A.D. praying to Mary began to take hold in the Roman Catholic Church along with the “perpetual virgin” doctrine. Roman Catholic leaders elevated Mary to the status of one to be worshiped by 590. In 1854 the doctrine of the “Immaculate Conception of Mary” was adopted. In 1950 the doctrine of the “Assumption of Mary” (that she was taken into heaven) was officially adopted.

Luke 11:27-28 27 And it happened, as He spoke these things, that a certain woman from the crowd raised her voice and said to Him, "Blessed is the womb that bore You, and the breasts which nursed You!" 28 But He said, "More than that, blessed are those who hear the word of God and keep it!"
