STEM Education Coalition
NCTM is an active member and on the Board of the STEM Education Coalition, which consists of more than 200 education, business, and other organizations with an interest in STEM policies. NCTM Executive Director Ken Krehbiel is on the Board of the coalition.
With NSTA and funding from the National Science Foundation, NCTM is co-sponsoring a program to develop Ambassadors for STEM education. The kickoff meeting will be in July.
NCTM Legislative Platform
Each year the Board passes the Legislative Platform, which states NCTM’s positions on important policy issues under consideration or likely to be discussed in Congress or policy circles. It is the clearest single statement of NCTM legislative and policy priorities. 28 28 28
