10 A Few More Things… Snacks: Please make sure it is healthy. Behavior:
A water bottle is also welcome! Behavior: This is their responsibility, disruptions are not tolerated. Book Orders: Please make checks payable to Edison or Cash. If you would like to use a credit card this option is now available. If you are interested see your child’s homeroom teacher for more information.

Support what is going on in the classroom Offer to chaperone, make copies, help with math games, and oversee holiday parties Let your child learn to be responsible for him/herself Encourage positive study skills Know what type of learner your child is

Remember best when they see something Can picture things in their minds Understand things better when they read material themselves. Take notes to help them remember things later

Highlight whenever possible Use outlining Draw pictures Make flashcards Color-code items Use an agenda book How to help a Visual (Seeing) Learner:

15 Auditory (Hearing) Learners:
Good talkers and good listeners Easily can remember what is said Like to repeat information aloud to themselves when they study Can be distracted by background noise Can remember songs after hearing them only a few times

19 Although your child may show a dominance for one of these areas, it does not mean that only that one style of learning will work for them. We put this together in hopes that these few tips will help you and your child with study skills throughout the year and into the future…thank you for your support!
