1 Introduction of Renewable Energies Sources IN BUILding sector
Contract Number: EIE Project duration: From January 2006 to February 2008 (26 months) Presentación mía.

2 MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT:
PROJECT SUMMARY MAIN OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT: PROMOTION OF THE USE AND INSTALLATION OF SMALL SCALE RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES APPLIANCES IN BUILDINGS, ESPECIALLY SOLAR AND BIOMASS ENERGY. MAIN OUTPUT OF THE PROJECT: SIGNIFICANT BOOST IN RATE OF INSTALLMENT OF SMALL SCALE RES APPLICATIONS IN BUILDINGS IN CLOSE COOPERATION WITH COMPANIES AND LOCAL AUTHORITIES CONSORTIA: Como sabéis, el Proyecto RESINBUIL se presentó a la convocatoria de IEE en 2004, y se ha aprobado por la comisión europea, asignándonos el 50% del presupuesto. RESINBUIL es el acrónimo de “Introduction of Renewable Energies in Building Sector”, como puede observarse. EIGHT partners from FOUR different countries.

3 OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT:
BACKGROUND OBJECTIVES OF THE PROJECT: DETECTION OF THE CURRENT RATE OF THE SMALL SCALE RES APPLICATIONS AND BARRIERS ON THE LOCAL LEVEL NEW MARKET INITIATIVES HIGH PROFILE PROMOTION OF THE SMALL SCALE RES APPLICATIONS SUPPORTING TRAINING INITIATIVES

4 WHY RESINBUIL IS SO INTERESTING AND RELEVANT?
THE OBJECTIVES WERE ACHIEVED BY MEANS OF A THREE-PRONGED STRATEGY: ESTABLISHMENT OF CONCRETE LEGISLATIVE AND MARKET STIMULI Proposals to update and/or modify legal ordinances. Commercial agreements between SME sector and local banks with Energy Agencies as intermediates. PROMOTION ACTIONS Permanent small RE applications exhibit (in Spain & Slovenia) Four-month long awareness campaign (Radio, local TV, posters…) TRAINING ACTIONS Attendance RE Course about RES in buildings (Master’s level) carried out at Univ. Burgos and online course in the rest of participating countries aimed at architects and engineers.

5 EXPECTED RESULTS INCREASE OF THE RENEWABLE ENERGIES PRODUCTION AT LOCAL LEVEL, SPECIALLY THOSE POWERED BY THE SOLAR AND BIOMASS RENEWABLE ENERGY. COOPERATION BETWEEN ENTERPRISES AND ADMINISTRATION IN THE INSTALLATION OF RENEWABLE ENERGIES IN BUILDING SECTOR DIVERSIFICATION OF THE ENERGY CONSUMPTION CREATION OF THE GROUND CONDITIONS FOR THE EASIER APPLICATION OF THE EU BUILDINGS DIRECTIVE REDUCTION OF THE CONTAMINATION RATE MARKET OPORTUNITIES JOB CREATION

6 WP6 General Dissemination WP7 EU Common dissemination
MAIN STEPS WORK PROGRAM: WP1 Coordination, Management and Evaluation WP2 Analyze the current rate and barriers of RES applications in buildings and formulate a strategy. WP3 Set up and enact innovative market initiatives. WP4 Improve and raise the awareness of general public and strategic groups. WP5 Creation and develop the new profile of RE technician. WP6 General Dissemination WP7 EU Common dissemination

7 FINAL REPORT – APRIL 2008 ACTIONS CARRIED OUT DURING THE PROJECT
Current rate of instalment and use of small scale RES appliances in buildings Each participating agency studied the current use of small scale RES in its region. Analysis of the barriers The participant agencies analyzed the barriers standing in the way of a more intensive use of RES in buildings. The results were similar in the four regions: SOCIAL, ECONOMICAL, TECHNOLOGICAL and NORMATIVE Barriers. Establishment of a three pronged strategy Partners agencies elaborated and performed a strategy with actions to face the detected barriers, which was performed during the following months of project. Local Ordinances and Commercial Agreements Partner agencies prepared drafts of Local Ordinances and Commercial Agreements to make RES in buildings more attractive for potential users. Partners held meetings with Local Councils and installers to implement these measures. Creation and development the new profile of RE Technician The attendance course on RE (Nov 05-Jun 06) in the University of Burgos. 26 students attended to this course. The online course was also carried out by University of Burgos in Slovenia, Romania and Italy. There were 31 students.

8 FINAL REPORT – APRIL 2008 ACTIONS CARRIED OUT DURING THE PROJECT
Publication of Infobooklets and semester bulletins in the participating regions Launch of a four-month long awareness Campaign in the participating regions, using mass media as tool of communication: radio, TV, press… Launch of a permanent exhibit in Burgos and Pomurje with true size models of RES integrated in buildings. The exhibits were a success with more than visitors. Celebration of Workshops aimed at specialized public (constructors, architects, engineers and installers) in Burgos, Pomurje and Harghita. The participation was very high in all the regions. Appearances in congresses and conferences at local, regional, national and international level. RESINBUIL WEB PAGE
