5 Keystone Exam Information
The Algebra 1 Keystone Exam is a state developed end-of-course standardized test designed to evaluate proficiency in the academic content studied in Algebra 1. The Keystone Exams can be administered up to three times per year (fall, spring, and summer). Grades May 16-27, 2015 7th – 9th All middle school students taking Algebra 1 or Acc. Algebra 1 during the 2015 – 2016 school year.

6 Keystone Exam Information
How will the Keystone Exam be counted? The Algebra 1 Keystone Exam is replacing the math portion of the 11th grade PSSA (the 11th grade PSSA is no longer administered). Students taking the Algebra 1 Keystone Exam before 11th grade will have their score “banked” and counted as their PSSA score when they are in 11th grade. The Algebra 1 Keystone Exam counts as the mathematics portion of the district’s state accountability exam. Passing the Keystone Exam (proficient or advanced score) is a graduation requirement for the class of 2017 and beyond. Therefore, all current middle school students must be proficient on the Keystone Exam to graduate from high school. Students who are not proficient/advanced will provided with remediation before they are reassessed.
