One of the goals of this meeting is to develop a draft statement about the distinctive undergraduate experience available at research universities. The initiatives highlighted in this session can be thought of as exemplars that will help us identify the central dimensions of that experience.

6 Session II: Roles and Responsibilities of UVP Network Members
The undergraduate vice provost (UVP) can play a critical role in enhancing the undergraduate educational experience at a research university. He/She often leads a team of faculty and staff in a variety of offices and units as part of a diverse portfolio of programs, initiatives and responsibilities. In an effort to better understand, support, and advance the work of UVPs across the nation, we are eager to learn from each you – the work you do, the best practices and programs you have developed, as well as the challenges you have navigated or now face.
