2 Introduction Mission Define goals in Project Proposal
Need for an IA Resource at the iSchool Define goals in Project Proposal Create Project Website What is Information Architecture? What do Information Architects do? Are their classes I can take? Are their Professors I can talk to? What about Student organziations? These are all questions we have all heard or had ourselves. IT is for that reason that the IA HUB project came about. Our mission is to create an online presence for the Information Architecture discipline as related to the School and the Industry. Currently there is no such resource for students, faculty, staff, prospective students, or visitors. We began by defining our goals in a Project Propsal and creating a Project Website so as to monitor our work and share the details of our project with our clients, stakeholders and others who may be interested. 9/21/2018 IA Hub Project

8 Analysis: Labels Analysis
Finally, we created labels that would accurately and simply allow users to navigate to these content areas of the site. We used the suggestions and comments from the in-class activity to validate certain label choices as well as to change or even omit others 9/21/2018 IA Hub Project

Design Jakob Nielsen’s Ten Usability Heuristics Match between system and the real world Consistency and standards Flexibility and efficiency Aesthetic and minimalist design Help and documentation 9/21/2018 IA Hub Project

19 Verification: User Testing & Heuristic Evaluation
Design General Usability Issues - Too many page titles and sub-headings - Not enough interlinking of pages and suggesting pathways for visitors - Many links take you out of iSchool site - Content heavy, not enough visuals - Need annotations to accompany lists of links - Difficult to move around “Events” section - Lacks much by way of substance in content 9/21/2018 IA Hub Project
