3 Procurement and Contracting
a) Request for Expression of Interest – on-going b) Procurement of Engineering Consultants - 16 Mar – 28th June, 2010 Engineering consultant – design and construction supervision ( includes sanitation facilities and water supply systems) Capacity Building Consultant –build capacity of the DA Private Sector etc to enable them manage the facilities to be provided and also replicate the delivery of improved services Hygiene Education and Community Management Consultant – he will lead the hygiene campaigns and promote behavioural change c) Procurement of Civil Contractors – 28 Sept, 2010 – 6 Jan, 2011 Three (3) Lots (three contractors) will be required to construct all facilities proposed for Huni Valley d) Procurement Procedure for this Project AWF/ AfDB rules and guidelines for procurement will apply to this project. Only References will be made to the Public Procurement Act of Ghana (Act 663)

b) Procurement of consultants - Ongoing (16 Mar – 28th June, 2010) c) Procurement of civil contractors ( i.e. Engineering, Capacity Building and Hygiene) – Scheduled for 28 Sept, 2010 – 6 Jan, 2011 d) Construction of facilities – Scheduled for 10 Jan – 9 Aug, 2011 e) Organisational development needs assessment and training of MA other target groups – Scheduled for 30 Jun, 2010 – 9 Aug, 2011 f) Hygiene education and community management - Scheduled for 30 Jun, 2010 – 15 Feb, 2012 g) Recruitment and training of O&M contractors – Scheduled for 1 Feb, – 9 Aug, 2011 h) Practical hand-over/ Post-construction support – Scheduled for 9 Aug, – 15 Feb, 2012 i) Final handing-over of facilities – Scheduled for 9 Mar, 2012 k) End of project workshop at district level – 12 Jan, Feb, 2012 l) End of project workshop at national level – 1 Mar, 2012 – 30 Mar, 2012

5 Management/ Sustainability
a) Development of facilities management guidelines and tools b) Training and equipping O&M contractors to deliver improved services c) Post-construction support to the Municipal Assembly, operators and NGOs with regard to the use innovative facilities management models d) Ongoing monitoring and documentation of experiences f) Project steering committee meetings g) Learning alliance meetings

6 Role of Ashaiman Municipal Assembly
