1 P 500-Series 2012 Product Information

2 Project & Business Scope

3 HQ Commercial FM position vs. competition 2010
One platform to bridge and replace PF 21 and PT 26D Competition withdraws from FM M-size, to focus on ZTH in NA - leaves gap / business opportunity P 500 Concept and Business Strategy: Concept: “Maintain the small machine (PF 21) main benefits - compact size, maneuverability but add the bigger diesel machines performance and durability!” Businesses Strategy: “Position Husqvarna in the S & M-size FM segment - create a true Commercial offer from the bottom-up - to compete from the below in a segment were the “big” has their gaps” P 500-series Life time, Cml reliability and specs PT 26D - Under powered and lacks key features to successfully compete in present price position and segment L Size PF 21 AWD - together with Stiga Park Pro, the main offers / competitors in the step in Commercial FM segment - both original design for semi-pro usage. M Size S Size k€ k€ excl. VAT incl. cutting deck

4 ? P 500 Series PF 21 AWD 2010 P 500 Project Objectives:
Diesel power, 20-25hp P 500 Project Objectives: Maintain PF 21’s strongest benefits: Traction & hillside stability (type of AWD system, low centre of gravity) Compact size (maintain important key geometry - wheel base, turning radius, seat pos, width) Simplicity (basic & reliable electric and mechanical systems) Maneuverability More petrol power, 24hp Wider decks: Combi 44-61” Higher specified transmission 13 / 19km/h, 23cc Compact size ? P 500 Series PF 21 AWD 2010 Simplicity Ease of usage Extreme Maneuverability Add: Power (Diesel alternative and more petrol power) Reliability (tube frame, hydraulic steering cylinder, PTO clutch, transmission life time 200% up! Productivity (wider cutting deck, faster transport and cutting speed) Moore! Electric Clutch Shaft PTO Hillside traction & Stability Background to a project that's be going on for some years, when creating a new platform. PF 21 AWD, highest spec. petrol FM, retailing at some € 50% private users! 50% pro’ / Cml users. And when we ask them why and how they use the machine: - Compact size - comb. with art. steering principle, enables them to cover narrow and complex areas as well as larger with the same machine with a high productivity. - Simplicity, and with all respect to my fellow colleagues back home at R&D, PF 21 AWD, in perspective of being compared to a diesel FM, could be explained as a lawn mower with a petrol eninge, some belts, 2 transaxles and a cutting deck... enables easy service and trouble shooting. - Ease- of usage should be translated as ability for operator to Steering wheel, front mounted deck, articulated steering - superior overview of cutting deck and trimming ability, Translated into the fact that our end-users are lazy kind of people who rather sits on a ride-on mower all time and in all applications rahter than pushing a WB mower or carring a trimmer for the - Hillside, New P500 series, Not even mentionniung the attachments Cost effecient design, 25% less parts in chassis, 69% less assembly time than PT 26D! New durable simplified chassis Hydraulic steering cylinder

5 Completely new platform - New technology
New frame - appx 30% less parts (vs PT 26D) Simplified and “beefed-up” - ROPS and Cabin prepared New articulated steering principle Cast iron rear wagon Hydraulic steering cylinder (no wires as on PF 21) New transmission, Kanzaki KTM 23 True permanent AWD, constant traction with transaxles (as on PF 21) Commercial durability and life-time (double life time vs PF 21) Wheel hubs - more durable axle / wheel support Simplified Hydraulic system: mechanical valves (vs electric hydraulic on PT 26D) Electric system; significant reduced complexity and no. of components (vs PT 26D) Main benefits: Reduced complexity and higher reliability and performance!

6 P 500 Range 2012 P 525D P 520D P 524 New 25hp Kubota diesel, 1.1lit
13/ 18km/h (2 speed rangers) 25cc Kanzaki AWD - Shoe Type pump 20” wheels C132 & C155 Large diesel performance with C155 cutting deck for max productivity speed , 20” wheels for high speed transport New P 520D New 20hp Kubota diesel, 0,9lit 23cc, Kanzaki AWD 15km/h Shaft PTO Cat 0 lifting arms coupling AUX hydraulics option ROPS standard Cabin + C’ml impl. range C132 & C155 Compact design and “feeling” with Diesel torque and efficiency with PTO shaft reliability P 524 24hp Kawasaki, petrol 23cc, Kanzaki, AWD 13km/h Full hydraulic power steering Electric clutch 4-10mm C’ml ladder frame 18” 4ply tires C112 & C122 PF geometry (size) and “feeling” with true C’ml reliability and features

7 Why a petrol model? Total usage (hours/year) is often overestimated (effective cutting time only 75-80% of a working day!!) Yearly usage <300h - petrol engine most cost efficient! Kawasaki FX Twin petrol engines provides equivalent torque and effect as smaller diesel engines Diesel engine investment will only payback at >350h/yr (due to diesel engine cost some € more!)

8 All changes above are both subject for P 520D and P 525D for MY2012
P 500-series MY2012 Updates: NOTE: Start of production of new: P 520D and P 525D ! Longer lifting arms on P 520D (same as on P 525D = C155 and C132 fits both models, new PNC’s for MY2012) P-brake lever - improved ergonomics and felling for engagement Improved service position - easier to secure service pos. (both diesel models) Updated rubber wears / ”engine hood stops” on engine bar Pre-drilled hydraulic kit mounting holes (MY dealer has to drill the holes) Updated rear cast iron Intergraded 10kg extra counter weight on P 520D and P 525D Pre-drilled holes to simplify mounting of tow-bar for trailer hitch etc (also for P 524) New cutting decks C132 & C155 (new PNC’s) New design for rear locking-pin on lifting arms Greaseable blade spindles Improved pivot wheels – semi pneumatic All changes above are both subject for P 520D and P 525D for MY2012 Specifications in general for whole P 500-series still the same as in technical specifications sheet.

9 Phase in – Phase out P 500 –series MY2011 vs MY2012
Due to updates in production of the frame and rear cast iron, will both P 520D and P 525D require complete new PNC’s for MY2012, this also is the reason for the late start of production. C 132 and C 155 for MY2012 will have improvments and changes -> new PNC’s fits only 2012 produced P 520D and P 525D

10 End-user profiles, P500-Series
P525D Who: Municipalities, Contractors, Housing-agencies etc Does: Cuts 5 days/w (>400h/yr), big areas, parks, estate areas, mobile application (self transported in-between work sites) Needs: Maximum power - productivity, 61” deck, high-transport speed, Road kit for - public road transportation. Built for year-around application - cabin, flail mowing etc P 520D Who: Municipalities, Contractors, Housing-agencies etc Does: Cuts grass ≥3-4 days/w (>300h/yr), complex and narrow areas but some large sized areas, stationary or semi mobile application, extended use for year-around work tasks. Needs: Diesel and PTO shaft power and reliability, premium operator ergonomics for long working days. Optional Cabin and wide range of accessories for true “year-around” usage Performance and Features P 524 Who: Housing-agencies, Contractors, Municipalities etc Does: Cuts grass only 1-2 days/w, (<300h/yr), mainly used as trim mower or small “all duty machine”, either in stationary application (no transportation in-between work sites) or on a trailer - also used for some year-around tasks, as towing a trailer, snow removal, flail mowing etc Needs: Power & durability with economic sense! Compact and extreme maneuverability and traction which allows uncompromised trimming and cutting in all conditions. Price
