8 Deciding on a Major/Career…
Students need to try different things to discover their likes (which some turn into passions) and dislikes. They must pay attention to their personality traits. They should do research via: AVID SAC Career Center Internet Research Shadowing Professionals

9 Additional career options at SAC
Students should be aware of the various career options available to them in addition to a 4-year university degree. SAC has 60+ AA degree and certificate programs leading to some vocational and technical fields. It is very important for parents to encourage students to discover what they are truly passionate about and naturally skilled at. (Sometimes it can be a life journey!)

10 Important Reminders! Please remember that when it comes to college course work completion, quality is better than quantity. Course work capacity and workload ability will vary from student to student. Senior year grades weigh heavily for admissions to universities. Don’t mess up!

11 Financing a college education
Scholarship FAFSA (Annual deadline—March 2nd) Grants Work-study Loans
