2 Marathon – start and finish on Glasgow Green with two loops of the course and crosses the Clyde 4 times.

3 Cycle Time Trial - will see top Commonwealth cyclists take on a challenging route (40km for men, 30km for women) that will start and finish at Glasgow Green with a single loop course taking in the great countryside of East Dunbartonshire and North Lanarkshire as well as the city’s East End.

4 The Road Race course, also starting in Glasgow Green, features a 14km circuit taking riders along Argyle Street, Buchanan Street and St Vincent Street before carrying on to the west end of the city where they will pass through Kelvingrove Park and circuit the west end before heading back towards the city centre and the finish. For the men’s race, competitors will complete 168km and lap the course 12 times. Female riders will complete 7 laps and 98km.

5 To provide a dedicated network of road based routes that link the Athletes’ Village to the competition and non-competition venues, ensuring that members of the Games Family experience a safe, secure, reliable and accessible transport system.” The GRN will be open to all traffic with the exception of the Games Lanes which are for Games Family vehicles only – less than 15% of the total. It is likely that accreditation will be required to use the Games Lanes. 24/7 more detail on restrictions is available.

6 The Games Lanes represent only a small proportion of the GRN and, with the exception of the West Street on-ramp to the Stobcross off-ramp at the Kingston Bridge (from Tradeston to the Clydeside Expressway), there will be adjacent lanes available to normal traffic.

7 Hampden will host the Athletics as well as the Closing ceremony
Competition starts on Sunday 27 July for 7 days July 27 is the only afternoon session, followed by 3 days of double sessions and then 3 days of evenings only sessions, ending with the Closing Ceremony on 3 August. There will be over 1500 Athletes - including over 100 competing in parasport events - from 66 Nations, 3000 workforce and 38,000 spectators per session. Sports Sessions will be 10:00-13:00, 14:30 -18:00 & 19:00-22:30 The Closing Ceremony will be 21:00-22:45 Gates open 2 hours before athletics events, and 2.5 hours before the closing ceremony We expect spectators to arrive by shuttle bus or by train to Mount Florida, Prospecthill Road (Toryglen side) and on foot. NB: ERROR on this map. Prospecthill Road will NOT be closed from 26th July to 4th August inclusive, as stated here. It will only be closed by the Police if the pedestrian ingress/egress to the Stadium dictates that it is not safe to remain open. Delays can be expected however. We have requested clarification and amendments to this map. .

9 Cathkin Braes Country Park will host the Mountain Bike Competition
Cathkin Braes Country Park will host the Mountain Bike Competition. There will be sporting competition all day on Tuesday 29 July. At Cathkin Braes there will be a fence securing three locations around the trail, including around the start finish line. Spectator buses are proposed to drop off and collect spectators on one closed lane of the south bound Carmunnock Road.

10 Scotstoun Sports Campus will host the Table Tennis and Squash Competition. There will be sporting competition taking place across each of the 11 days of the Commonwealth Games. Table Tennis - 24 July - 2 August 2,113 spectators per session, two sessions daily and 18 in total. The session times are: 09: :00 and 16: : 00 Squash -24 July - 3 August 2,249 spectators per session, two sessions daily and 19 in total. The session times are: 11: :00 and 17: :00 Spectators will arrive by public transport either by train to Scotstounhill Station or by bus to Dumbarton Road.

12 SECC precinct will host 8 sports competitions throughout the Games- Judo, Wrestling, Boxing, Netball, Rhythmic Gymnastics, Artistic Gymnastics, Weightlifting and Powerlifting. The precinct will also host the International Broadcast Centre and the Main Press Centre. 26,927 spectators are expected on the busiest day. Sessions will start at 09:30 and run to 22:45, with gates open 90 minutes before competition starts. The number of sessions means that spectators will be arriving and departing all day. Spectators will arrive by train to SECC rail station and by bus, or walk or cycle using the Active Travel Route.

14 Kelvingrove will host 9 days of Lawn Bowls competition at the Lawn Bowls Centre. Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum will remain open throughout the competition. The bandstand in Kelvingrove Park will host a Festival 2014 Live Zone throughout Games time. Spectators will arrive by subway to Kelvinhall or Kelvinbridge, or by buses to Argyle Street. 16 Ibrox Stadium will host the Rugby 7s competition over the first weekend of the Games. Spectators will arrive and leave by public transport using the subway to Ibrox or buses to Paisley Road West. 17 Glasgow Green is home to 3 Glasgow 2014 venues
At the West end there is the start finish point for the Road Courses - the Marathon , Cycle Time Trial and cycle Road Race and the Festival 2014 Live Zone. Toward the east side of the park the Glasgow National Hockey Centre will host the Hockey competition. 18 Celtic Park will host the Opening Ceremony of the Commonwealth Games on 23 July. Spectators will arrive by public transport at Dalmarnock Station and by bus. The area surrounding Celtic Park may also be affected by activity at the Emirates Arena, Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome and the Athletes' Village

19 Emirates Arena & Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome
The Emirates Arena will host the Badminton while the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome hosts the track cycling events. Spectators will arrive by public transport to Dalmarnock Station or by bus. The area surrounding the Emirates Arena & Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome may also be affected by activity at the Athletes' Village and Celtic Park. Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome - Track Cycling 24 July - 27 July 2,700 spectators per session 7 sessions in total - 2 sessions daily, 1 on final day Earliest start 11:00; Latest finish 19:30 Emirates Arena - Badminton 23 July - 3 August 5,000 spectators per session Mixture of 3, 2 & 1 sessions daily 23 sessions in total. Earliest start 09:00 am and latest finish 22:30

21 Tollcross International Swimming Centre
Tollcross International Swimming Centre will host the Aquatics swimming competition from 24 to 29 July with 2 sessions per day from 10:30 and 19:00 daily with gates open 90 minutes before competition starts. 3,700 spectators per session will arrive be via Tollcross Park from Carntyne Station and buses on Tollcross Road.
