Visit to download and review Publication 1220 Specifications for Filing Forms 1098, 1099, 5498 and W-2G Electronically to determine if your firm wishes to file electronically or is required by the IRS to file electronically. If filing electronically for the first time, you should submit form 4419 as soon as possible to attain a transmitter control code for the IRS Filing Information Returns Electronically (FIRE) System used for electronic filing submission.
