2 Timeline of Upcoming Events…
Cambridge HS 1/24/17- Rising 9th Grade Family Night. 2/9/17- Special Programs Night 2/16/17- 8th Grade Visit to CHS Alpharetta HS 2/23/17- Middle School to High School Transition Night for 8th Grade Parents (Bring your student’s Course Request Verification Form). 3/6/17- 8th Grade Visit to AHS ** 8th grade students will receive their 1st Course Verifications Sheets 1/30/17. Timelines for course verifications for AHS and CHS are listed on the HMS Counseling Website.

In high school grades are not averaged… Each semester is independent. Example 8th grade English (LA Arts) *Semester grade *Semester grade *Yearly average- 70 Example 9th grade English *Semester 1- 60 *Semester 2- 80 *No yearly average (student passes class) (Student fails 1st semester and the .5 credit must be made up)

Move on When Ready (MOWR) Coursework Balance  Utilize current teachers (8th) and current counselor to help make the best choices - but, remember, balance!  Make choices and stay with them  Very few schedule change opportunities  GPA (Cumulative Numeric Average)
