5 Response Structure: The way in which you shape your answer to a prompt Could be: Short Response Sentence or Paragraph Long Response: Essay or Speech

6 Why is the structure of your response important?

7 Importance of Response Structure:
Prevents missing any important information Shows your entire thought process regarding the prompt Helps you ensure that you are on topic when answering the prompt

Starting Sentence in Paragraph Thesis in Essay Support Evidence from a text or event Explanation Your time to expose what you know

Comes from the prompt Basic focus of the essay Position: (CLAIM) Direction individual will take with their essay Basic argument of essay Reason: Details regarding the individual’s position Write notes in Left third of Brochure fold

Evidence or citations to enforce position and connect to the reasons within T.P.R. Should use citation formatting when paraphrased or quoted 3.
