9 Frequently Asked Questions
How long can the CAT5 cable be from the microphone to the mixer? The CAT5 cable can run a maximum of 300 ft Is there a locking mechanism to secure the microphone module and cable to the base? Yes, the cable locks to both the base and microphone module What is the pickup range for a microphone? The pickup varies by room conditions and the microphone mixer. In a typical room, it can pickup an 8’ radius Are the dongle breakouts provided with the XLR and Phoenix connectors attached or stripped and tinned bare wire leads? The XLR and Phoenix connectors are attached

10 Frequently Asked Questions
How does the microphone actually sound in a conference? When configured correctly, ClearOne ceiling microphone array yields superior audio quality and better pickup range compared to other ceiling microphones. The ceiling microphone array represents a more convenient method to install a ceiling microphone with 360-degree coverage Is the pattern good for live reinforcement with effective feedback rejection? Yes. The amount of feedback rejection depends on the relative placement of the talker relative to the microphone, and the distance from the microphone to the speaker. The ceiling microphone array should perform similarly to 3 professional ceiling microphones from major Pro Audio vendors which are arranged for 360-degree coverage Do you need to use shielded CAT5e or regular CAT5e/6? We recommend using unshielded and plenum rated CAT5 or better cables

11 Frequently Asked Questions
What are the maximum cable lengths for each type of cable used? The length of the drop-down cable would be 12 inches or 24 inches The CAT5 cable should be plenum rated, and can be up to 300 feet in length On the other end of CAT5 cable is an RJ45 receptacle attached to the three mini-Phoenix or XLR connectors connected to ClearOne mixers. This cable comes in one length, inches Is there a preconfigured/downloadable gain structure and EQ curve for Converge Console? Not at this time. But, we do plan a future release for Converge Console Is there an INTERACT AT version that is already compatible without using the INTERACT MIC EX already installed?   No. In order to use the ClearOne Ceiling Mic with INTERACT AT, the MIC EX accessory is required.
