It opened the door to further progress by lessening racial restrictions in the following areas: Use of public facilities Providing equal job opportunities Strengthening voting laws Limiting federal funding of discriminatory aid programs.

The Equal Pay Act of 1963 The Civil Rights Movement influenced the passage of the Equal Pay Act of 1963 The Equal Pay Act of 1963 is a United States federal law amending the Fair Labor Standards Act, aimed at abolishing wage disparity based on sex. It was signed into law on June 10, 1963 by John F. Kennedy as part of his New Frontier Program. In passing the bill, Congress denounces sex discrimination

Mediation A mediation occurs before your complaint is investigated by PWHRC and provides you and your employer a chance to talk about your concerns. If both parties agree to the terms of the mediation, the charge will be settled based on these terms and closed. If Mediation fails it moves on to investigation. If Charging Party and Respondent agree to mediate they will chose a mutually agreed upon time to meet at the Human Rights Office. A mediator will assist the parties in reaching a resolution to the charge. If both parties agree to the terms of the mediation, the charge will be settled based on these terms and closed. A Mediation Agreement by the mediator and signed by both parties will represent full and final relief to the parties, and its terms will be binding on both parties.
