International Rugby During 1905, the New Zealand Rugby team toured the Home Nations of the United Kingdom, the first team from a ‘colony’ to do so Just before the kick-off of each game the New Zealand Rugby Team performed a strange dance ritual The ritual was an ancient ‘Maori’ war dance The Maoris are the ‘indigenous’ people of New Zealand It has become tradition for New Zealand to perform this ritual before every international game they play It is now commonly known as The Haka

At Kingsholm 1st live experience of the ‘Haka’ for the people of Gloucester Most players in the New Zealand team were Maoris The Maoris liked to have tattoos on their faces Imagine facing these men doing the Haka, shouting at you, dancing in front of you, and with tattoos on their faces!

Your Challenge On each of the 3 templates of Haka facial expressions
Create and draw a tattoo design which emphasis the facial expression Remember that the Haka is actually a war cry
