Recent publications Updated to enable latest G.fast DSL technology from the ITU-T Enables ultrafast speeds Up to 1Gbit/s on short loops Mbit/s on longer loops Two new parts added to ANFP Part E Part F

ANFP change summary G.fast is defined in ITU-T Rec. G.9700 (PSD) and G.9701 (transmission system) Time Division Duplex (TDD) based transmission system, using the spectrum between 2 and 106MHz, delivering up to 1Gbit/s aggregate on phone wires. Support of vectoring (real time crosstalk cancellation) and retransmission are mandatory in both upstream and downstream directions. Two new ANFP parts (E & F) have been added to ND1602 (ANFP) to enable G.fast Enables G.fast to use spectrum between 19 and 106 MHz in BT’s network Spectrum compatibility with existing VDSL2 systems which use up to MHz Part E provides the limits applicable to FAST DSLAMs deployed either at alongside existing Part B (VDSL2) locations or closer to the customer premise than the existing Part B location. Part F provides the limits applicable to FAST modems and can only be used when communicating with a DSLAM operating under Part E. 11 NICC DSL TG members area

Outlook for 2017 Complete the technical study into options for overlapping VDSL2 and G.fast spectra Update the BT ANFP & guidelines to support G.fast spectrum starting below 19MHz

Summary Another busy year for the NICC DSL Task Group
Supported by active engagement from key industry stakeholders Communication Providers Vendors Ofcom 2 key deliverables completed enabling the latest DSL from the ITU-T (G.fast) Ground breaking work ongoing enabling co-existence of G.fast and VDSL2 in the region up to 17.6MHz which will lead to update to BT ANFP and guidelines New members welcome

Thank You
