Title: Structure and function of Vertebrate Forelimbs
Pre-Lab Questions: What are the bones located in the forelimb? What is the location & function of the humerus? What is the location & function(s) of the ulna/radius? What is the location & function of the metacarpals? What is the location & function of the phalanges? INB Pg Make 9 equal sized boxes on pg At each skeleton station: Record to common & scientific name of each vertebrate. Carefully sketch the structure of the forelimb Discuss and record the function of each forelimb (ex. Walking, swimming, etc.) Compare each forelimb to those you’ve seen and use color in your drawing to indicate similar structures between species.

Title: Vertebrate Forelimbs Analysis
INB Pg. 108 1. Describe 5 specific differences between the forelimb bones of specific species. 2. Compare the two most different limbs. What 3 similarities do they share? 3. Describe what patterns exist in all of the limbs. 4. If each limb has a different function then what could cause them to share a similar structure?
