1 PowerMatch T4F New Features AE Training
Welcome to the Tier 4 Final PowerMatch section of the AE training. My name is XXX, title. This module will cover an overview of the new features from Tier 4 Final in PowerMatch. This module is intended as an update to your PowerMatch knowledge . This training has been created by the Industrial VPI Electronics group, who is primarily responsible for the development of the electronic controls systems and calibrations for the Off Highway Tier 4 final products.

2 In addition to the screens that you are familiar with in Powermatch, some new screens supporting new Tier 4 Final features have been added to PowerMatch. This is the new CAC Out Temperature screen. In Tier 4i, we didn’t have a dedicated channel for this, so we had to use the OEM Temperature channel as the CAC Out. The user can use this to configure the CAC Out Temperature table and the high and low threshold. CAC or Charge Air Cooler is used to cool engine air after it has passed through a turbocharger, but before it enters the engine. The idea is to return the air to a lower temperature, for the optimum power for the combustion process within the engine. The CAC out temperature sensor senses the output temperature of the charge air cooler.

3 You should be familiar with this screen
You should be familiar with this screen. This is the main Fan Clutch screen. When you select the ON/ OFF Electronic fan type, and when you go to the next screen, the new CAC Out Temperature channel will be displayed.

4 Highlighted here is the new CAC Out Temperature parameter
Highlighted here is the new CAC Out Temperature parameter. Here you can input the temperature thresholds for the CAC Out Temperature.

5 This is the main Fan Clutch screen again
This is the main Fan Clutch screen again. When you select the Variable Speed Electronic fan type, and when you go to the next screen, the new CAC Out Temperature channel will be displayed.

6 Circled in red is the new CAC Out Temperature parameter that has been added for Tier 4 Final.
This screen can be used to input different temperature thresholds and Fan PWM frequencies for the CAC Out Temperature channel.

7 To get to the CAC Out Temperature for the Closed Loop Fan type, you need to select the Closed Loop Fan Clutch

8 This screen is in the process of being implemented
This screen is in the process of being implemented. It will be available in the near future. Highlighted here will be the new CAC Out Temperature parameter. Here you can input the temperature thresholds for the CAC Out Temperature to meet your fan clutch requirement.

9 This screen is also in the process of being implemented.
Again, circled in red is the new CAC Out Temperature for the Closed Loop Fan Type

10 This is the SCR Inducement Derate screen
This is the SCR Inducement Derate screen. With the introduction of SCR to the Aftertreatment system, PowerMatch now allows you to change the Derates. This screen can be used to configure the SCR torque and RPM derates. This screen can also be used to select the Final Inducement Type, namely Idle Lock, Restart Limit, or Engine Shutdown.

11 This is the DEF Tank Temperature and Level screen
This is the DEF Tank Temperature and Level screen. It can be used to configure whether the sensors for the DEF tank are Hardwired or Datalinked. If Datalink is selected then the user can input the Source Address in the “Comm” tab. DEF tank Level feature is used to monitor the amount of DEF fluid in the tank. The EPA requires a minimum of 10% DEF Fluid level in the tank at all times. The DEF Tank Temperature feature is used to monitor the temperature of the DEF Fluid. DEF Fluid will freeze at sub zero temperatures similar to water. We also added the Non Linear DEF Tank feature. You can use this screen setup if the DEF tank is not linear. Non Linear tank could be triangular or inconsistently shaped tank.

13 Fuel Rating (FR) Request Form:
This form is to be used for requesting Fuel Ratings for Tier 4 Final Platforms. This will not replace the VPCR process, you will still need to request one when the program moves to full production. PowerMatch Rating Request Number: Name: RACIF ID: Engine Family: Requested Fuel Rating: Application: We are implementing a new way for requesting FRs requests. Currently I get requests through s or via sametime message to lift FR restrictions. This will make everyone follow a process where we can document all the request in one place. SUBMIT NOTE: If the requested FR is not available, then please select a rating that’s similar, and later you can migrate the profile back to the desired FR when it becomes available.

14 Get Approval for use of the FR (Beta)
In Summary, you will use PowerMatch to create Custom Calibrations. For Beta, you will need to get approval from the VPI PowerMatch team in order to lift the FR restriction. Once this restriction is lifted then you should be able to create Custom Profiles using PowerMatch Screens as your guide and then create Custom Calibrations for testing. As the program moves to Limited Production, all of the FR restrictions will be removed and you should be able to use any FR to create your Custom Calibration without the approval step. PowerMatch Get Approval for use of the FR (Beta) Create Custom Profile using PowerMatch Screens as your Guide Create Custom Calibration for Testing
