4 Fulfill Eagle Requirements
Finish All Merit Badges Be active & hold a leadership position in the troop for 6+ months Print Individual Progress Report from Troopmaster ID any missing Eagle MBs or others needed for the required 21 Identify & contact MB counselors Complete MBs and turn blue cards in to Merit Badge Coord. Reprint Progress Reports and Work to Rectify Any MB Errors Print final Individual Progress & History Reports** from Troopmaster ** Will become part of Application or Project Binder

5 Get approval signature from Beneficiary Rep
Do Eagle Project Get approval signature from Beneficiary Rep Decide on what type of project to do & identify potential organizations Meet Rose Bowl VP of Operations & get approval (wear full uniform) Contact organization to agree on and define a project Do Final Project Plan** Get verbal approval from Dr Kast. Conduct fundraiser if necessary (Blaze, etc) Communicate project date & details to troop Create a Project Proposal** and Presentation** Do actual project work (may be multiple days) Get verbal approval of scope from Beneficiary Rep Obtain completion letter and signature from Beneficiary Rep saying project is done** Review with Eagle AC Review and get approval signature from Scoutmaster (Dr Kast) Get approval signature from Scoutmaster (Dr Kast) Present Proposal to Troop Committee (modify & present again if needed) Write Project Report** Write Project Critique (1-2 pgs)** Get approval signature from Committee Chair (Mr Walton) ** Will become part of Application or Project Binder

6 Gather and Organize all Paperwork
Prepare Scout Binder* Gather Recommendation Letters Prepare Project Binder* Create a binder that includes: Binder Cover Sheet Eagle Application GLAAC Eagle Application Rose Bowl Checklist Eagle Resume Life Purpose essay (1-2 pgs) Eagle Project Critique (2 pgs) Individual Progress Report Individual History Report Personal Resume Copies of blue cards & rank cards if you have them Decide who you want to write your recommendation letters Create a binder that includes: Project Proposal Final Project Plan Project Report Troop Committee Presentation Before & after photos Letter of completion from organization representative Sign in sheet(s) and/or time logs Other supporting materials Ask these people if they will and get their addresses Prepare letters, envelopes and Eagle and personal resumes Give letters, envelopes, and resumes to Eagle AC Confirm that Eagle AC has mailed letters Confirm that Eagle AC has received all letters* Follow up with anyone from whom a letter has not been received * Will be used at Eagle Board of Review

7 MUST BE SUBMITTED BY 18TH BIRTHDAY
Go through Eagle Review & Board Review binders with Eagle AC Submit Eagle Binders to Smiser Center and get receipt (wear Class A) MUST BE SUBMITTED BY 18TH BIRTHDAY Hold Scoutmaster Conference (w/ binders & Scout handbook) Work with Eagle AC to set date for Eagle Board of Review Obtain Scoutmaster signature on Eagle Application Participate in Eagle Board of Review (wear Class A & bring book) Obtain Committee Chair signature on Eagle Application CONGRATULATIONS!! Contact District Executive to schedule binder drop-off

8 Attend your Eagle Court of Honor
Decide date for Eagle Court of Honor Invite friends and family Coordinate with other Eagle Scouts on group decisions Prepare personal materials for Court of Honor Write your speech, including mentor pin award Decide who will do the Invocation & Benediction Get Eagle picture taken (purchase is optional) Create your scout slide show and submit to Media Coordinator Decide who will read Voice of the Eagle Call Smiser about a month after BoR to see if Eagle kit has arrived Prepare & send program items: to Records Coord.: Your biography Your photo List of merit badges Name of person who will introduce you Work with Hospitality Coordinator on what food you would like Pick up Eagle kit at Smiser, buy pins, neckerchief and slide Decide who will introduce you and ask them Gather items for display at the back of the room Attend Court of Honor (don’t forget your materials!)

9 Timeline for Key Activities Life to Eagle – 7-9 months minimum
Fulfilling Eagle Requirements 6 months - Be active in the troop months - Hold a leadership position in the troop 6 months - Complete all required merit badges months for some Eagle MBs Eagle Project months - Defining your project months - Planning & getting approvals* months - Final planning and purchasing materials several weeks - Doing the project weekends - Getting approval letter from organization several weeks - Writing project report and critique weeks Paperwork months - Writing resumes and essays for Scout binder weeks - Getting and checking reports in Troopmaster weeks - Getting recommendation letters months - Assembling Project & Eagle Binders weeks Board of Review Process months - Getting approvals (Scoutmaster Conference, etc) 3-4 weeks - Scheduling and holding Board of Review weeks * Remember that the Troop Committee only meets once a month, and not every month
