16 HOW ARE A LEVELS STRUCTURED?
A Levels have changed- previously AS and A2 What does this mean? A-Levels are now a 2 year course Courses are linear which means all examinations are at the end of the course, that is, at the end of Year 13.

17 EXCEPTIONS Subjects which will be examined during Year 12 include:
Financial Studies Business Studies BTEC Subjects

18 EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FORM

19 CHOOSING YOUR SUBJECTS?
There are a wide range of courses from which three A level/Level 3 subjects need to be selected. Think ahead to university course selection, apprenticeships, employment. Research what subjects you may need. Be aware that certain degree courses require certain subjects at A level. Choose subjects you will enjoy particularly if you are uncertain of your future career aspirations.

20 ADDITIONAL LEARNING Examples: EPQ Sports Leaders Award
English and Mathematics Level 2 AS qualifications/ BTEC Level 3 Certificate

22 WHAT DO OUR STUDENTS SAY?
“My subject teachers are all very interesting and enthusiastic which keeps me wanting to learn. I feel this motivates me to do well” My time in Sixth Form has been more than studying for A Levels. It’s prepared me for the next steps, helped me grow in confidence of my own abilities and pushed me to achieve my best. I would wholeheartedly recommend EWS Sixth Form to anyone who wants to further their education, whatever their plans for the future. The progress checks and reassurance of my subject teachers as well as my mentor really helped me gain confidence in my abilities and to think more seriously about the future EWS is a small Sixth Form, all the college team know me personally and are happy to help me. There is always someone available to listen, help and support
