The cows are milked by my father and our goose is fed by my sister. He eats 12 sandwiches a day because my father works very hard. However, last night the sandwiches were eaten by mice! My father was very angry so he borrowed the neighbours cat. The cat was borrowed with the sole purpose of catching the mice. By the end of the afternoon, all mice were caught and eaten by the cat. If I were rich, I would build my own school. The school would become very popular if I created pits where students can lounge. The school would also be very succesful if I hired the best teachers. All students would get a smartphone if they wanted. And if the goverment allowed it, we would go on school trips to cities like Rome, Barcelona, New York, Jakarta, Beijing, London, Stockholm and Dubai at least five times a year! If the students got good grades, they would(could) leave the school an hour early. Famous DJ’s would perform at school parties if they were paid enough. It would simply be amazing! Follow these three steps: analyse Step 1 The object receiving action (meewerkend/lijdend voorwerp) becomes the subject. He dropped the pen. The pen – becomes the subject. The pen… Step 2 Choose the right tense for to be. (past tense/present tense etc.) It happened in the past so past tense of to be: was/were. (pen=singular so choose was) The pen was… Step 3 Step 1 Put the past participle form (3rd row/verb+ed) of the main verb behind to be. In this case the verb ‘dropped’ is already a past participle. (drop  dropped) The pen was dropped (by him).
