1 Snowboarding

2 Snowboarding is.. A winter sport that evolved from skateboarding and surfing. Three main styles of competition exist: Alpine, Freestyle, and Boardercross. Developed in the 1960s, Snowboarding was believed to have originated in the United States, where several inventors explored the idea of surfing on the snow.

3 Learning to snowboard! Learning to snowboard can seem frightening for those with no winter sports experience, but it shouldn't be! With a little preparation and a positive attitude, learning to snowboard can be the first exciting step towards a lifetime of fun on the mountains.

4 Why I like snowboarding!!
I like snowboarding because its just fun and gives you freedom. It gives you an adrenaline rush! Also it gives you the chance to think while you are going back up the moutain, which I love.

6 Snowboarding’s impact on the environment
Snowboarding’s impact on the environment is’nt that bad as snowmobiling or something but still has its impact on the environment. When making ski slops for riders you have to cut down trees and grading land into suitable slops which impacts the environment.

7 Snowboarding’s benefits
It gives you time to spend with family and friends Great way to stay in shape It is a great way to gain balance of your body and focus, and concentration . Meet new people

9 Snowboarding Organizations
The BC Snowboard Association (BCSA) is a non-profit sport organization, which is the governing body of snowboarding within the Province. The BCSA is an organization that brings youth into a fun and supported environment while competing in a sport they love. Up and coming National Team riders and future pro athletes are bred through the BCSA and its programs.

10 Olympic’s Because snowboarding has become so popular around the world, the International Olympic Committee decided in 1994 to make it an Olympic sport.  Snowboarding first appeared at the Olympics in Nagano, Japan at the 1998 Winter Olympic Games.  The two events were the giant slalom, similar to the ski event, and halfpipe or freestyle event.
