3 Sports Eligibility A student is eligible to represent Forsyth County High Schools if they meet the following specific requirements: Student must be a bona fide undergraduate member of a Forsyth County High School. In the judgment of the principal and athletic director, the student must be a representative of the school’s ideals in matters of conduct and sportsmanship on and off school campus. During the period of participation, student must be enrolled in a full academic load. Student must be eligible in accordance with the Constitution and By-laws of the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) and Georgia Rule See > Constitution and By-Laws

4 How do I make the swim team?
Attend tryouts Tryouts are mandatory for ALL participants October 18th-21st: 1st week of practice & tryouts Make at least 1 time cut listed below Cut time for Boys Event Cut time for Girls 28.45 50 yard free 32.05 1:10.20 100 yard butterfly 1:18.65 1:02.90 100 yard freestyle 1:10.80 1:12.60 100 yard backstroke 1:19.85 1:22.90 100 yard breastroke 1:30.95

5 Try Out Details Tuesday, October 18th- Wednesday, October 19th-
Swim Practice 6:00-7:15am at CAC Thursday, October 20th- Friday October 21st- Swim Try Outs October 20th- Novice/New Swimmers October 21st- Returning/Club Swimmers/Last Chance *Swimmers with an incomplete physical packet will not be allowed to try out.

6 How do I make the dive team?
Stay tuned for more information on the dive team. We are currently working to secure a coach. Practices will be held either Monday evening, Tuesday morning, Thursday morning, and/or Friday mornings depending on level. Novices are welcome! Experienced gymnasts and cheerleaders are encouraged! Be sure to fill out information form, as new information will be ed to you once it becomes available.

Sept. 23rd- Booster Club 7:30am Rm 426 Oct. 3rd - Complete Physical Packets* due to Coach Fairbanks Oct. 17th-21st - Practice and tryouts for swim team Oct. 24th- Mandatory Swim & Dive Meeting for Athletes Oct 25th- Morning Practice Starts Oct. 25th- Evening Registration Meeting Discuss commonly missed items on physical. if you participated in fall sport and already have one on file.

8 Practice Schedule Practice Starts October 25th
Monday 6:45am-7:30am Conditioning at SFHS Track (weather permitting; conditioning ends after Holiday break) Tuesday-Thursday 6:00am-7:15am at Cumming Aquatic Center Friday morning activities & breakfasts TBD

9 Athlete Expectations You are a student-athlete, not an athlete-student. You must maintain satisfactory grades, attendance and attitude in all of your classes to participate with a minimum of 2.5 grade point average. You must be enrolled in a minimum of 5 courses. 90% attendance is mandatory for lettering consideration. Club swimmers must attend at least 3 club practices per week and at least 5 practices throughout the season. Failure to attend may jeopardize participation on the team. If another high school sport overlaps swimming at the beginning of the season practices will not be mandatory until the prior sport has concluded. (note needed from coach)

11 Dues Swim- $350 Dive- $350 Additional $25 for Senior Athletes

12 Break Down of Dues Registration Dues Include:
Meet Fees (we pay per event/per relay/per athlete) Bus transportation (varies depending on distance of meets) Pool fees (3 days/week) Team Unify (website, team manager, meet manager, website domain) Swim Caps (2 per swimmer with team logo & last name imprint, Divers receive a shammy) 1 Team T-shirt, 1 Team Hoodie, 1 County T-shirt 1 Swim Suit Varsity letters, chevrons, county/state patches, awards Senior Recognition expenses (Senior Dinner, gift & County Meet celebration) Banner/Sign expenses Banquet expenses State meet expenses (apparel) Registration does not include: Warm Up suit – not mandatory but recommended Social/Team Bonding events (parent/swimmer organized events) Practice suit, goggles (2 recommended)

13 What to do now? Fill out information sheet. 1 per swimmer or diver.
Get your physicals turned in ASAP! You will not be allowed in the water until it is turned in. Get in the water! Start training if you’re worried about making cuts! The CAC has open lanes every morning before school.
