This week we reviewed: Sight Words: Have and is The difference in day and night How to label the picture you draw Next Week we will learn: Review all Sight Words Purpose of Labor Day Five Frames Physical Properties (texture, color, size, shape, weight) September 1st- Grandparents Day September 5th- Labor Day (no school) September 13th- Papa John’s Night September 21st- Fall Picture Day September 27th- Chick Fil A Night The week of August 29th- September 2nd will be Book Fair Week in the library. When sending money please send in labeled envelope! to to get important reminders sent to your phone! We need snacks and disinfecting wipes for our classroom! Each presidential election year Hand-In-Hand goes to the polls. Voting is one of American's civic responsibilities. On election day, students will learn that voting is fun. Each student will get to go to the polls and pretend to vote for the candidate of his/her choice. Please know that no one is told who to vote for or swayed in any way. This is just to extend our standards and unit, "Proud to be an American."  It's the importance of the process that we are beginning to instill in our little ones. This past week we reviewed: Tell me the sounds you hear in “cat”- “/c/ a/ t/ cat” identifying the sounds in a word Word families- change the “b” in “bat” to “s” what do you hear? “sat” Sight Words: you, said History of Thanksgiving Identifying numbers 11-20 Next Week We Will Learn: Sight Word: want Decomposing numbers 11-20 Maps Christmas Around the World study November Thanksgiving Break November 28- Thomasville Christmas Parade December 1- Student Led Conferences December 2- March of Cans December 3- Winter Family Fun Day December 6- Breakfast with Santa Do not forget to bring in canned and boxed food for the March of Cans! Every Monday- return book baggies Disinfecting Wipes Snacks We NEED these items for our classroom. If you don’t bring in snack, we can’t have snack. Fit Father’s Week Jump Rope for Heart Dental Health Month Practice writing and reading CVC words (consonant, vowel, consonant) I sent a list home and you can make flashcards or have them read the words off of the list. They should be able to say the sounds they hear in the word and read the whole word.
