In Valtellina wine producers use mainly Chiavennasca grape with other minor varieties of grapes. 3

This method of farming uses "steps" that are built into the side of a mountain or hill. On each level, various crops are planted. 

6. DRY STONE is a building method by which structures are constructed from stones without any mortar. Dry stone structures are stable because of their unique construction method. 6

11. Cantine aperte takes place within the walls of the oldest cellars in the historic centers of Morbegno and Traona

12. This traditional festival attracts many tourists and takes place during the first two weeks of October.

13. To enter the wineries you need a pass
To enter the wineries you need a pass. Together with the pass they give you, a map and a chalice.

14. During the festival you can drink the wines of the area…
…accompanied with salami and cheese

15. If you are not 18 you can't drink the wine, but visit the cellars, buy souvenirs and listen to music.

16. We really like this festival because we can walk with our friends or our families and have fun.
