Endeavors to amplify the critical role language plays in content standards
The goal of this initiative is to increase recognition that learning the language of each academic discipline is essential to learning content ‐ especially in this era of challenging content standards.
The NC Department of Public Instruction has partnered with Stanford University to provide training in the Understanding Language (UL) Initiative.
The UL project, initiated by Stanford University, endeavors to amplify the critical role language plays in content standards.
The goal of this initiative is to increase recognition that learning the language of each academic discipline is essential to learning content ‐ especially in this era of challenging content standards.
