1 Course Profile Enhancements 2016

2 Changes released for Semester 2 2016 profiles

3 Supplementary Assessment
Convenors are required to indicate whether supplementary assessment is available for the course by selecting a Yes/No response in section 5.4 Other Assessment Information. Where no response is provided user is unable to change status of profile from ‘draft’ to ‘submitted’. Responses are not copied across to the next offering of the course

4 Learning Resources Course Convenors are now required to provide Learning resource details for their course via the Reading List Service hosted by INS. Standard static statements display in section 3.1 Required learning resources and 3.2 Recommended Resources (including a link to the Reading List via the Student View)

5 Staff authored learning resources
A check box has been added to the Status and Settings page – which will allow Convenors to indicate where they are proposing to use required resources which have been authored, co-authored, edited, published or developed by a staff member – details flow through to development board for consideration by Head of School/Dept

6 Changes to be released for Summer 2016 profiles

7 Technical Specifications
A new standard text field 1.6 Technical Specifications has been added to section 1 – which will enable convenors to provide computer technical specifications that students should adhere to with regard to studying online. Includes a link to study online web page. This is not a required field. Content will be copied across to the next offering of the course in the auto clone process

10 Nomenclature Changes Where the text ‘semester’ is displayed this will become ‘Semester/Trimester’, as the change will be migrated into the production environment at the commencement of Summer 2016 and prior to Trimester 1, 2017. Just prior to Tri 1 – a further change will be made to remove ‘Semester’ from displaying.

12 System Nomenclature Changes
The role names within the system will be updated to reflect Griffith roles/titles eg. Unit Administrator to become School Administrator, Designer to become Convenor, Reviewer to become Approver and Previewer to become Course Moderator

13

14 Change to Examination Duration headings
Changed ‘Duration Times’ to Total Duration on the exam configuration page (Assessment). As well as ‘Duration’ to ‘Exam Duration (excludes perusal time)’

15

16 Display of ‘Assessment Title’ on Student View
Made changes to the ‘Title’ of an assessment item which displays to students – now returns with a heading/label of Title: Exam – rather than just the content of the field

18 Changes for Trimester 1 and Teaching Period 1 2017 profiles

19 Resubmission Convenors will be required to indicate the assessment tasks for which resubmission may be available and the conditions under which the item is to be resubmitted. Going forward, Convenors will be required to check the entered details are still current as the content will copy across to the next offering of the course. This is a requirement for submission of the profile, however there is no submission restriction in place only a warning on the Status and Settings page. Where resubmission is not available, a simple statement will be forward-facing to students ‘This assessment item does not have a resubmission provision’ – if resubmission is available students will see ‘this assessment item may be available for resubmission (see conditions outlined in Resubmission) – and the content from the text box on the assessment page is displayed

21 New set of Griffith Graduate Attributes
For profiles with a term code of >=3171 (Trimester ) and 6171 (Teaching Period ) a new set of Griffith Graduate Attributes will display in section 2.3 Graduate Attributes. Convenors will no longer be required to map learning outcomes to graduate attributes, only where professional graduate attributes exist. Staff will be required to indicate where each of the attributes is taught, practised or assessed by selecting relevant check boxes on the page. Includes instructional text, a link to The Griffith Graduate policy which provides details of the forms of evidence relating to each attribute (sub-sets). Students will only see those attributes which have been selected. It is a required section of the profile, however there is no submission enforcement – only a warning will display on the Status and Settings page advising the editor and approver of the profile that the section must be completed. Once configured, the selected responses in this section will automatically copy over to the next offering of the course.
