Several VRMS reports are available to chapters Opportunity status (provides an update on each chapter opportunity posted, it’s status, applicants, etc.) Updated profiles (provides list of chapter members who have manually updated their profile, indicating an interest in volunteering) Service history (provides a list of volunteers with volunteer service history within a designated timeframe, great for recognition) Currently available manually by contacting PMI can set up monthly subscriptions and will forward the reports as they come in Request has been made to add VRMS reports to the Chapter Reporting System for on-demand access to VRMS information (no timing available for enhancements, but we are on their list)

Quick Facts 2017 is Year 3 of the Five-Year Project Location: Carrilho, Itabaiana in Sergipe, Brazil Over thirty students, alumni, and faculty involved The community’s main export is cashews Offers volunteers a centralized place to find opportunities and maintain their service history Offers chapter leaders a venue to post opportunities and search proactively for volunteers Streamlines the Recruitment process for both the volunteer coordinator and the prospective volunteer– better user experience

Student Groups (By Major) Identified Needs Projects to Meet Needs Business Low Income & Untapped Potential Establish international cashew export business Develop business model for Carrilho-produced cook stoves Engineering Negative health & environmental impacts from roasting cashews Design custom, sustainable clean cashew cook stoves (eliminate open fire cooking) Nursing Poor access to health care Implement third year of health assessments and health training Education Poor student motivation, teacher training, quality of education Collaborate with regional Secretary of Education to address needs Create new, improved education model for teachers in the state of Sergipe, Brazil Theology/ Psychology Social problems (e.g. drugs, alcoholism) Partnership with local church to implement community youth discipleship program, address social issues, defeat poverty mindset Offers volunteers a centralized place to find opportunities and maintain their service history Offers chapter leaders a venue to post opportunities and search proactively for volunteers Streamlines the Recruitment process for both the volunteer coordinator and the prospective volunteer– better user experience

Coordinators… Volunteer Benefits: 1 Hour of volunteer work = 1 PDU (Up to a total of 10) Meet with students over phone, Skype, in-person, etc. Opportunity to mentor students Make an lasting impact for the community of Carrilho, Brazil Current Needs: Business: Logistics and Supply Chain consulting (most requested area) Help with Business model for cook stoves Expertise for implementing international marketing plan for cashew exports Engineering: Assistance with cook stove design and in-house production plan for Carrilho Education: Expertise for development of Director/Teacher-level education model Volunteer Opportunity!
