Name: Celebrating the Century: Music: For What It’s Worth Title: HARD TIMES The Vietnam War is still being fought. The President is Nixon. April 30, 1970-the president sends troops into the country of Cambodia. At Kent State University in the state of Ohio , nine students are injured and 4 die. TV Show: All in the Family starring Carroll O’Connor as Archie Bunker. In 1973, the United States withdraws from Vietnam. The United States lost 57,000 soldiers in the war. April 30, 1975-the city of Saigon falls to the communist (becomes Ho Chi Mihn City) Nixon visited the country of China in 1972 and then stopped at Moscow in Russia. Three years later, Sadat is assassinated .
