1 Child Protection Project & Nubader Program Family's Superhero & Caregiver’s Support

2 Joint aim is To enhance the psychosocial capacities of caregivers and support circles around Children and Adolescents.

3 Family Superhero (FSH): A psycho-social support program for parents that was designed based on the “Cognitive Behavior theory” of Albert Ellis. Caregivers’ Platform: Utilizes the profound stress and attunement (PSA) model that uses neurological science to understand the impact long term stress has on the brain. This helps people recognise the emotional context for themselves, their family and their community and better manage their feelings. Caregivers’ Platform & Family's Superhero Theory

4 Caregivers’ Platform & Family's Superhero implementation FSH Structured Program. Consist of 17 sessions. Session duration 90-120 min. 3 sessions per week. 2 M groups + 2 F groups in cycle, across 2 sites. Each group consist of 16 beneficiaries Families of children under 18 Caregivers’ Platform Structured Program. Consist of 10 or 6 sessions. Session duration 120-180 min. 1 session per week. 1 M groups + 1 F groups in cycle, across 3 sites. Each group consist of 25 beneficiaries Family of children * adolescents 12 to 25

6 FSH & Caregivers’ Platform It is an interactive way of learning. Use of different psychological and facilitation techniques such as: videos, role playing, interactive theater, meditation and relaxation, working groups, psychodrama, games, home assignments, and story writing and sharing. 7 FSH phases: Piloting phase: We’ve piloted the program with mothers and females’ caregivers in November 2016. Implementation phase: Implementing the program in 2017 with both gender males and females. 3rd phase: Design new levels for parenting approach, aim to ensure the sustainability of FSH’s benefits and encourage the caregivers to practice the knowledge and skills that they gain from FSH with their family members and with other caregivers in the community through: - Home based activity; Family Story - level 2 - Community-Based Support; Peer Support Groups - level three. - Young mothers approach. 8 FSH last year we reached more than 4500 care givers in both camps. Results showed a significant change in caregivers behaviors and attitudes towards parenting, by 88% as an average for last year interventions. 10 Next Steps Potential collaboration opportunities can include: 1- Nubader team to develop intervention levels based on the SuperHero example 2- At least 2 people from each time to attend the next technical training conducted in community 3- Internal workshop on framework adoption reflected in manuals, or one joint manual 4- Any ideas or suggestions?? (technical working group?)
