2 Imperialism In Africa Imperialism - Forcing or imposing your will or culture on another nation or group As European nations industrialize, they become more powerful. They also need more resources to fuel their economy, like coal, iron, wood. Africa is the #1 choice to imperialize. Why? It’s close to Europe It’s rich in natural resources Ice and bling!! (Including gold and diamonds!)

3 Imperialism Ethnocentrism, -the belief that your race is superior……which leads to Racism. Social-Darwinism- The idea of evolution, and the strongest Society will survive. Europeans assume they are the strongest race because of their success during the Industrial Revolution
