2 Audio effects intro Audio effects are big parts of the media today
They edit various parts of everyday life The news Games Music They are essentially the backbone of audio of the modern world.

3 Reverb Reverb- the way sound reflects off different surfaces.
Effects on audio Very fast echoes following initial sound

4 Reverb cont. Reverb is used to There are five types of reverb
Restore natural sound Enhance sound Create special effects (dream sequences, etc.) There are five types of reverb Convolution reverb Full reverb Reverb Studio reverb Surround reverb

5 Reverb cont. Convolution reverb- reproduces reverb in multiple rooms
Full reverb- gets rid of unwanted room noise Reverb- simulates acoustic sounds with convolution based processing Studio reverb-simulates like reverb but is faster and less intensive processing Surround reverb- can provide sound ambience for mono or stereo sources.

6 Chorus Effect it has on audio:
Makes a singer’s voice sound like a chorus (a group of singers singing the same thing) Each voice is delayed and slightly off tune

7 Phasing Aka Phase Shifting Sweeping Effect
Mixing an original signal with another version of itself Out of phase interactions overtime causes a sweeping effect

8 Phasing Phasing was first made in the 1960s by musicians
And has remained an important part of audio Phasing uses notch and boost filters to phase shift over time

9 Flanging A specific type of phasing This is a type of phase shifting
Mixes original signal with a varying, slightly delayed version of the signal They are mixed more or less equally

10 Conclusion Thank you for listening
Phasing and flanging are both important in audio, they mix signals with one another and is a good sweeping effect. The chorus effect allows one singer to become a group of singers by simulating multiple voices. Reverb gives audio realistic sound and helps enhance sound to make it sound more natural.
