1 Documentary presentation
By Jake Powell

2 Documentary Plan This documentary will be based on the dinosaur the Allosaurus, I am going to be recording some footage at the Liverpool world museum, this footage will include the recording of the Allosaurus fossil. I will be interviewing people and asking questions about the dinosaur. My documentary will include facts and history of the dinosaur, which I will gather up by collecting information on the Internet and from the museum. I will be producing a script that I shall follow so I will be recording audio for narration in the documentary, I will be using either the LAV mic or the Boom mic to record my voice, I will be doing this in a sound proof room in west Cheshire college so there is no interrupting sounds.

3 Documentary Research The Allosaurus was among one of the earliest dinosaurs discoveries and the fact that its fossils are plentiful makes this dinosaur a darling of the palaeontologists as well as dinosaur observers. This fossil is known as the most common fossil in the Utah’s Cleveland quarry or in the western united states. Fossils of the Allosaurus have been discovered in several other places around the world including Portugal, Siberia and Tanzania. This dinosaur lived million years ago during the late Jurassic period. The name “Allosaurus” is derived in Greek terminology as “different” or “other” and sauros as “Lizard”. It was named this because its vertebrae were different to any other dinosaur known at the time of the discovery in Some of the vertebrae for the Allosaurus fragilis were concave on both sides and contained shallow cavities, giving them an hourglass shape — these features reduced the bones' strength, while making them lighter. The Allosaurus also has features that are similar in modern birds; there are hollow spaces in its neck and in the anterior back vertebrae, these were believed to have contained air sacs for respiration. The Allosaurus is a carnivore, similar to the T-Rex as it had very short arms and sharp claws. It had a large skull , it had two legs and had a heavy tail. The Allosaurus has an average length of 8.5m (28 ft) and an estimated 2.3 tons. The Allosaurus was also likely to have hunted Stegosaurus, and Iguanodonts such as Camptosaurus. Young baby Allosaurus might have eaten insects like dragonflies and centipedes, and other small animals. When about two years old, Allosaurus might have eaten small dinosaurs.
