We have a variety of presenters today who are going to share the services they offer. Some of these organizations may not be based in your community, but we encourage you to ask questions and provide comments to make sure all kids in Idaho have access to appropriate resources. There are people on this call that can advocate for that. Contact information of each presenter is being shared, so please don’t hesitate to reach out to learn more.

We are privileged to serve vulnerable Idaho populations with compassionate, sustaining programs and direct services. We partner with communities and organizations across the state to increase awareness and engagement in improving dental health for all Idahoans .

Delta Dental of Idaho’s GrinWell for You
“What a great program. I thought it was too good to be true.”
“This program has been a life saver for me. Living on Social Security only made it possible to get dental work done when it was an emergency. Thank you for your program.”
Our GrinWell for You program was piloted in 13 counties in 2015 with around 300 participants. It offers a year benefit of $1250 for low-income seniors to restore their dental health. After the first year, participants are offered a supplemented plan they pay $10/month for called Protect that offers preventive services to maintain their dental health
In 2016, we enrolled 675 seniors, and we anticipate enrolling 800 over the course of 2017.

Providing low-income seniors in Idaho with restorative dental services.

23. Grins On the Go teams serve 1st, 2nd, 7th and 8th grade students in schools with 50% or higher Free and Reduced Lunch rates. This is to capture 1st and 2nd molars as they erupt.
Four teams serve statewide in 185 schools in over 66 school districts throughout Idaho.

25. Delta Dental of Idaho Community Outreach Toothpaste Recommendations – American Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry
Fluoride toothpaste is always recommended.
For children younger than 3, as soon as there are teeth, a smear of Fluoride toothpaste is recommended.
For children 3 and older, a pea sized amount is recommended.

In addition to the CME evaluation that will be sent out, you will also receive a couple of links to some really beneficial tools to help your oral health practices, including a care algorithm, and examples of oral health workflows within the Primary Care setting. Lastly, our program is conducting some outreach for Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip. You will see more information on this coming soon.
